From the severing of diplomatic relations in 1961 to the hard-won normalization of Cuba-U.S. relations under the Obama administration and the subsequent chipping away of those normalizations under President Trump, Ada Ferrer unravels the complex intertwining of the U.S. and Cuba’s foreign policy and domestic affairs.
Ada Ferrer is Julius Silver Professor of History and Latin American and Caribbean Studies at New York University and the author of Cuba: An American History. David M. Rubenstein (moderator), co-founder and co-executive chairman of the Carlyle Group, is the author of numerous books, including The American Experiment: Dialogues on a Dream.
