The Henry Luce III Center for the Study of American Culture on the fourth floor of the New-York Historical Society is closed for renovations until Spring 2017.
During this time, objects from our fourth floor permanent collection are on view throughout our other gallery spaces.
The New-York Historical Society is transforming its fourth floor into a new destination for historical education and innovation, with a new Tiffany Gallery, the establishment of the Center for the Study of Women’s History, and a reimagined permanent collection display.
The Tiffany Gallery will be a sparkling glass showcase for the museum’s renowned Tiffany lamp collection, which is among the world’s best in range and quality, designed by architect Eva Jiřičná in her first major New York project.
The Center for Women’s History will be the first of its kind in a U.S. museum to study women’s history on a permanent basis, presenting special exhibitions, public and scholarly programs, as well as an immersive multimedia film. The re-imagined display of collection highlights in the Henry Luce III Center for the Study of American Culture will significantly increase public access and engagement with New-York Historical’s holdings.
