Description:
Silver gilt watch fob with milky chalcedony seal; bail is hollow finial with knop, affixed to fob with scrolled foliate garland, the base of the fob is rectangular and domed, silver is decorated throughout with acorns and oak leaves; the seal depicts a lion passant above a crest with a greek cross having a bird perched in each quadrant.
Gallery Label:
This watch fob belonged to John McComb, Jr. (1763-1853), designer of New York's City Hall. The seal depicts the McComb family coat of arms.
