White metal struck medal with obverse showing draped bust of George Washington facing left surrounded by laurel wreath; legend: "WASHINGTON THE FATHER OF OUR COUNTRY." Reverse shows nude bust of Washington facing right with inner legend: "GEORGE WASHINGTON"; outer legend: "FIRST IN WAR, FIRST IN PEACE/AND FIRST IN/THE HEARTS/OF HIS COUNTRYMEN."
