Description:
Colorless blown lead glass tumbler with cut decoration; cylindrical form with four cut bands 5/8" below rim; six alternating plain and fine diamond grid panels; one plain panel engraved with initials "DWC" for De Witt Clinton; fourteen deep panels cut around base; sulphide of De Witt Clinton incrusted in base.

According to accession records, this tumbler was part of a set presented to Governor De Witt Clinton. The set was later given to the father of the donor (Peter De Witt). The cameo in the base is attributed to Apsley Pelatt of London.
