Beaver top hat with wide black silk band housed in bandbox covered in printed paper with figures on horseback and in wagons.
Gallery Label:
The beaver hat was worn by Hon. Caleb S. Woodhull (1792-1866), Mayor of New York City from 1849 to 1851. Mayor Woodhull was the grandfather of the donor.
