Description:
Wrought silver tea service consisting of a teapot, creamer, covered suger and waste bowl; gadrooned around the lower bodies on splayed feet with applied vertical edges stamped with shells; applied seamed die-rolled bands with grapevine designs below the shoulders; engraved, "JDBK" in script at the front centers of the bodies; maker's mark stamped on the base of the sugar, creamer and waste bowl.
Gallery Label:
This tea service belonged to Joanna DePeyster Kuypers (1792-1832), the grandmother of the donor. She married Dr. Peter Van Zandt in 1818.
