Description:
Spun silver tea caddy; globular body repoussé chased all over in an elaborate floral design; plain rim stamped with the makers' marks; circular cap repoussé chased all over in the same floral design with a plain rim; engraved on the base, "E E G" in script.
Gallery Label:
EEG is Emma Elizabeth Gilder (b. 1861), the aunt of the donor (Louise S. Gilder). Emma was a sister of Louise's father, William Howard Gilder (b. 1857, Maryland).
