Description:
Mahogany Federal tall case clock; broken-scroll hood with two brass ball finials flanking central gilded wood finial, columns, and oval glass side windows; white painted dial plate with roman numerals, segmental-arched calendar, hand-painted urn flanked by floral rosettes in the tympanum and "ASA WHITNEY/ N.YORK" on the dial; waist with fluted quarter-columns and an arched door with an inlaid oval panel; base with inlaid circular panel, serpentine skirt and French feet; brass works, pendulum and weights.

The clock's works were made by Asa Whitney, who is listed in the New York City directories as a watchmaker from 1798 to 1812.
