Description:
Tortoise shell snuffbox with hinged lid, rectangular in shape with oval medallion with gilded cameo portrait of unidentified gentleman mounted on lid under glass.

According to the donor, this snuffbox was presented to Lafayette to the Brower family of New York, with whom he stayed.
