Description:
Octagonal red wax wafer with oval seal impression; shield surmounted by elephant's head, with banner inscribed "ERECTUS NON ELATUS" below; in circular brown plastic box with printed paper label affixed inside lid.
Gallery Label:
According to a note found with the object, this impression, which represents the arms of the Squier family, was made from the seal ring of the donor's father.
