Description:
Red (faded) cotton jersey sash with tassels on both ends.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession record, this sash was worn by Colonel Robert S. Swords, who served in the 7th Regiment New York National Guard. He was assigned to take charge of the draft riots in New York City in July, 1863.
