Description: 
Large gold ring gypsy-set with emerald-cut emerald; shank shoulders decorated with cast Egyptian-type designs; inscription inside shank; orange box lined with burgundy velvet.
Gallery Label: 
The ring was presented to Mr. Sulzer on Memorial Day, May 30, 1910, in Chicago in recognition of his efforts on behalf of the Soldier and Sailor of the Union. Attached to the accession notes is a handwritten note by Mr. Sulzer describing the history of the ring and his intention to bequest it to the New-York Historical Society.
