This ribbon is from the 99th anniversary of the General Slocum steamer disaster of 1904. At the monument dedication ceremony in June 15, 1905, Adella Liebenow Wotherspoon, who was the last survivor of the General Slocum steamer disaster, had pulled the cord to unveil the monument, which honored the 1,021 passengers who perished in the fire. The then 20 month old Adella had lost her sisters Anna and Helen, whose body was never recovered.
