Description:
White cotton petticoat worn over a hoop with a drawstring waist; bottom has a scalloped edge and a floral open work border with bobblin lace work in the center of the flowers.

This petticoat was worn by Cornelia de Peyster, daughter of Isaac and Maria (Van Ball) de Peyster, on October 12, 1712, when she married Oliver Stephen Teller (b. 1685), son of Andres and Sophia (Van Cortlandt) Teller. It was also worn by the donor on the occasion of her marriage, April 30, 1908.
