Description: 
Double breasted overcoat with four braid frogs on each side for buttons; 5 buttons under collar for attachment to cape.
Gallery Label: 
This overcoat was worn during the Civil War by Dr. Gabriel Grant (1826-1909), Surgeon of the 2nd New Jersey Volunteers and later Surgeon-in-Chief of the Division. Dr. Grant received a Congressional medal of honor. The coat was donated by Grant's son in 1936.
