Bronze struck medal with obverse showing nude bust of Washington facing left with laurel branches on either side; legend: "GEORGE WASHINGTON/1732-1799." Reverse bears inscription flanked by tied fasces: "FIRST IN WAR/FIRST IN PEACE/AND FIRST IN THE HEARTS/OF HIS COUNTRYMEN."
