Bronze struck medal with obverse showing seated female figure facing left with attributes of science and industry; shield at right with arm and hammer and motto on scroll: "BE JUST AND/FEAR NOT." Reverse with inscription at center: "AWARDED/AT THE/FOURTEENTH/EXHIBITION/1881" with arm and hammer above, all within laurel wreath; legend: ".MASSACHUSETTS CHARITABLE MECHANIC ASSOCIATION./FOUNDED 1795. INC. 1806."
