Gilt bronze struck medal with obverse showing accolated clothed busts of Napoleon and Thomas Jefferson facing left with surrounding legend within beaded border: "LOUISIANA.PURCHASE.EXPOSITION/.OFFICIAL.SOUVENIR." Reverse shows geographical map of the United States labelled across center: "LOUISIANA PURCHASE"; inscription above: "1803/1,000,000. SQUARE MILES/$15,000,000."; legend within beaded border: "LOUISIANA TERRITORY/St. LOUIS 1904."
