Description:
Leather, iron, pewter, and brass haversack; black leather bag with with four pewter buttons fastened to inside, leather shoulder strap with iron buckle sewn to rear, and flap with strap that fastens to iron buckle on front.

According to accession records, this haversack was used during the Civil War by Edwin A. Whitfield of the 7th Regiment, New York State Militia.
