Description:
Struck bronze plaquette with obverse showing uniformed bust of John Paul Jones with laurel branch and small anchor within shield; legend below exergual line reads: "JOHN.PAVL.JONES/.1747.1792." Reverse shows winged allegorical female figure holding laurel wreath and blowing a trumpet, in the background is procession of men, horses, and wagons and the cupola of French Pantheon; inscription above: "AMERICA.CLAIMS.HER.ILLVSTRIOVS.DEAD", in ex.: "PARIS.ANNAPOLIS.1905."
