Description: 
Imari-style jar with lid. Red animal-shape finial.
Gallery Label: 
Part of the furnishings of General John Maunsell's house at 14 Broadway at the end of the 18th c. Left by his widow to her niece, Mrs. James Beekman in 1815, and used in the old Beekman mansion on the East River at 252nd (?) Street. Willed to her great-niece (a namesake, and the mother of the donor) in 1833.
