Turned wood medal with obverse showing undraped bust of George Washington facing right with surrounding legend: "GEORGE WASHINGTON/FEB. 22. 1732./DIED DEC. 14.1799." Reverse bears inscription: "GREAT/INTERNATIONAL/EXHIBITION/FAIRMOUNT PARK/PHILADELPHIA/4th OF JULY"; legend within line border: "THE 100th ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE."
