Description: 
Silver dessert spoon with inlaid mixed metals in the Japanese style (Lap Over Edge pattern); downturned hammered handle with inlaid branch and flower design; egg-shaped bowl; maker's mark stamped on the underside of the handle.

This is a rare handmade example of Tiffany's "Lap Over Edge" pattern, using inlaid rather than applied decoration. The spoon was probably originally paired with a fork as part of a dessert set. For a similar set, see William P. Hood, Jr., "Tiffany Silver Flatware, 1845-1905" (1999), fig. 342.
