Description:
Porcelain demitasse cup with interior rim band of blue enamel linked diamonds and gilt circles, exteior rim band of blue enamel with gilt stars above gilt scallop and dot band; the front has an oval cartouche containing two birds facing each other, each holding a flower.
Gallery Label:
This cup was given by Clarkson Crolius (1773-1843) to Elizabeth Meyer (d. 1858) at the time of their marriage in 1793. Crolius was a New York potter and politican.
