Description:
Wrought silver creamer; plain, inverted pear-shaped body on a high molded circular foot, applied to the body on a circular pedestal; applied, stepped shoulder, incurved neck and a wide, extended pouring lip; plain, applied rim; plain, scrolled handle, cast in two halves and seamed; engraved, "M A K" in script on the front of the body; maker's marks on the base.
Gallery Label:
This creamer belonged to Morris Ketchum (1796-1880), the great-grandfather of the donor. He married three times. He married his first wife, Catherine Burr on July 22, 1819. His second wife, Angeline Burr, daughter of Silas and Charity Banks Burr, died prior to May 10, 1837, when he married for the third time.
