Description:
Cast silver compote; circular, shallow, bowl-shaped body, depressed in the center and raised to a flared rim; sides have three rings of pierce-work, an hourglass shaped lattice at the rim, a chamfered square lattice in the center and a band of ovoid shapes nearest to the center; cast, applied reeded band around the rim with four applied shell and scroll motifs; engraved in the center, "L S G" in script; body seated on a domed pedestal and a splayed , pierced, lattice-work foot; reeded band with four shell and scroll motifs applied around the foot; maker's marks stamped on the base.
