White and black jaquard-woven silk ribbon with portrait of George Washington within oval medallion at center; beneath are crossed laurel branches and scrolling band inscribed: "St. LOUIS UNIVERSAL EXPOSITION"; inscription above: "THE FATHER OF OUR COUNTRY".
