Bronze struck plaquette with obverse showing seated female allegorical figure of Knowledge with scepter and open book, inscription above: "COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY/1754 1954"; inscription below: "MAN'S.RIGHT.TO/KNOWLEDGE.AND/THE.FREE.USE/THEREOF." with stylized lion's head and palm branch below. Reverse bears crown within laurel wreath and four small semi-spherical decorative details at corners; inscription: "KING'S COLLEGE/1754/COLUMBIA COLLEGE/1784/COLUMBIA/UNIVERSITY/IN THE/CITY OF NEW YORK/1912/BICENTENNIAL YEAR/1954."
