Description:
Wood butt stock of musket.
Gallery Label:
This musket stock was found in White Plains, New York, near the site of a Revolutionary War battlefield. The battle was fought on October 28, 1776, and resulted in a victory for British forces under General Howe against retreating Continental forces under General Washington. The musket probably belonged to a soldier who fought in the battle.
