Description:
Wrought silver standing presentation bowl; deep, circular, bowl-shaped body repoussé chased all over with an alternating flower and leaf design; flared, scalloped rim with engraved foliated design on the inside and an applied feathered rim; center of bowl engraved, "PRESENTED/ to/ Jas. P. Fagan, Esqe. Supt./ by the Officers of the/ State Emigrant Refuge/ and Hospital, Wards Island, N.Y./ as a testimonial of their respect. New Years Day 1865." in script; seated on a scalloped, circular pedestal with a beaded knop and all over repoussé chased foliate designs; feathered footring; makers' marks stamped on the base.
