Description:
Bronze uniface commemorative plaquette, with rounded upper edge, inset into dark purple fitted leather case with red silk satin and silk velvet interior, issued by the Paris Mint to commemorate the Battle of Lorraine. It depicts French and American soldiers standing at right, with their right arms raised; French soldier holding laurel branch in his right hand; inscription at left: "LA/LORRAINE/AUX/ETATS-UNIS/12 SEPTEMBRE/1918"; with image of Gothic cathedral beneath.
