Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse showing image of train drawn by locomotive with allegorical nude male figure flying at right, with right arm stretched forward; legend: "ONE HUNDRED YEARS/SAFETY STRENGTH SPEED." Reverse depicts the first steam locomotive built in the United States with inscription in exergue: "PETER COOPER'S/"TOM THUMB"; legend within line border: "TGE.BALTIMORE. AND.OHIO.RAILROAD.COMPANY/.1827.1927."
