Education Mission
The New-York Historical Society Education Division provides dynamic programming and curriculum resources for students and teachers in New York and beyond. Historical study sparks curiosity and creativity, promotes cultural understanding, and fosters an empowered citizenry to strengthen our democracy. Our staff of passionate professionals draws on our world-renowned collections to engage learners of all ages in the study of our collective past.

Bring the New-York Historical experience into your classroom! Every in-school program features a New-York Historical educator bringing replicas of artifacts, paintings, and documents into your classroom to illuminate the stories of our collective past. In the process, students develop their critical and historical thinking skills while expanding their understanding of the complicated story of the United States.
You can book lessons in two ways:
- In-Depth Series: Multiple lessons connected by a major theme
- One-off: A single lesson
